Village of Love
Uplifting Women in Rural India

The Village of Love is a nonprofit organization that helps provide goods, services, and resources for women and children in Mayapur, India, the international headquarters for ISKCON. The organization was inaugurated during the ISKCON Vaishnavi Ministry Sanga, led by Radha Devi Dasi, GBC Vaishnavi Minister, and held in Mayapur, India, earlier this year.
The founder of the Village of Love, Sri Radha Govinda Dasi, saw the urgency for helping deprived women in India to become uplifted and empowered. She also recognized that the lack of care in their developmental years could adversely impact a young woman’s entire life. Therefore, she has made it her mission to help women, children, and students worldwide find themselves through spiritual education.
The organization seeks to “offer women and their children the dignity, empowerment, support, and spiritual nourishment for them to become the best they can.” It also aims to be an example of uplifting and promoting Vaishnavi activities. With the help of a team of volunteers, Sri Radha Govinda Dasi strives to make a difference in the lives of the women she contacts.

During the inauguration of the new initiative, powerful Vaishnavi speakers, kirtan, dance performances, and interactive sessions were offered to all the guests. In addition, the Village of Love distributed awards to notable Vaishnavis, specifically to illuminate their contributions to the worldwide ISKCON movement, which the organization notes is often unnoticed.
Two of the award recipients were Dr. Nitaisevini Devi Dasi and Shiromani Devi Dasi. Dr. Nitaisevani joined ISKCON as a full-time devotee in 1997. She is a school principal, active in college preaching, and assists in managing a temple; alongside her husband, Samba Das, President of ISKCON Visakhapatnam in South India. She was honored for her many preaching efforts. The second recipient, Shiromani Devi Dasi, was raised in Kuwait; she came to Manipal, India, to study medicine. While at the University, she was introduced to ISKCON. She was honored at the event for her service, including youth preaching and the successful devotee marriages of about fifty couples. Shiromani Devi Dasi expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the event organizers and really appreciated that more women, the “silent soldiers” of the ISKCON movement, were being recognized.

At GaurAcademy, we believe wisdom is hollow without service. Our ongoing projects include community wellness programs, educational scholarships for Vedic studies, and planetary alignment workshops for mental health.

Supporting Women in the Holy Dham
In the sacred Dham, women who have sought refuge from war zones, and different parts of the world with different issues and at village of love, we given the opportunity to learn sastras (scriptures) and delve into the cultural aspects of dharma and karma. Through tailored training and educational programs, we empower these women to deepen their knowledge of spiritual teachings and traditions, fostering a sense of connection and growth within the nurturing environment of the holy Dham.

Initiatives to Support Children's Education
Our goal is to help children who lack school supplies, clothing, and stationary by organizing programs that inspire them to enjoy learning. We will collect donations for essential items, host back-to-school events, provide mentorship, offer educational workshops and activities, partner with schools and community organizations, conduct fundraising campaigns, and raise awareness to reach and support children in need. Together, we can make a positive impact on their educational journey and empower them to succeed.

Inspire Hope with Your Generosity to Widows
In the heart of Navadwip, there are resilient widows who embody spirituality and find solace in the simplest of meals. By providing them with packets of puffed rice that offer sustenance for days and arranging comforting hot khichri, we aim to bring warmth to their hearts and nourishment to their souls. These women come together weekly at a sacred space to uplift each other through the power of bhajans and hymns, creating a harmonious symphony of faith and community. If you feel called to be a beacon of light in their lives and sponsor a meal for these deserving souls, your support can make a meaningful difference. Reach out to us today to share in the joy of giving back and spreading hope in the Navadwip widows community.

Sponsor a Blanket for Those in Need
In the chilly winters of Navadwip, some locals struggle to stay warm due to insufficient resources. Over the past three winters, we have been able to provide blankets and sweaters to support these individuals in need. If you would like to make a difference by sponsoring 100 blankets for those facing cold temperatures, your generous donation can truly make an impact. Your support will help ensure that these individuals have the warmth and comfort they deserve during the winter season. Donate below to contribute to this meaningful cause.

Temple Restoration
We restored a temple in Mayapur where Lord Balaram killed the demon, Mayasura to protect the villagers. The fight continued for a long time after which the land here became sunken and turned into a pool of Mayasura’s blood.
Therefore this place has been known as Mayamari since then. Mari means killing. This place is non-different from Talavana in Vrajamandala.
